Career Risks

Taking a career risk is not an easy thing to do. The thing about career risk is that it is never black and white. One decision leads to another which leads to another. The direction you take initially impacts choices you will be offered down the road. A good evaluation is an honest reflection on all of the consequences and an assessment of what works the best for you not only now but also in the long term.
While there is no way to predict that what can be the result of our decision. So our honest decision and a little serious thinking may reduce the risk. Some worth taking risks are
How big is the risk?
To analyze the risk that you are going to take, asses that how big is the risk? Start from little thinking and see what works for you and what does not work for you. Sometimes people take a huge risk in their first attempt and in the end see it ending in disaster and then never take another risk.
Evaluate the outcome of the risks
When considering the risk, evaluate its outcome. Once you spoke your words you will in a different scenario either your idea will be liked and you will be promoted or your idea may be a joke for many of your employees. So try to avoid the worst scenario.
What is beyond the initial impact?
The important thing in this way is that your one decision will lead you to other and other will be to another so be careful when you choose a direction as your direction or decision will lead you to different choices you will be offered later. Ask questions to yourself whether you will prefer your goal or interests even in under pay or you are not financially strong enough to take the decision at the time. If your job goes away before you are able to get a promotion that makes up the difference. The immediate pay cut may create many problems than finding a more fulfilling career path.
Are you afraid of the change?
Some times people are not satisfied with their position but they don’t want to change the seat or to take the risk as it is a familiar position and is comfortable. So, it’s very easy to choose comfort over passion.
But the successful people are never afraid of taking the risks. They are ready for any change as they prefer passion and goal over comfort. You are the best advisor for yourself. We often know immediately whether something is a good or bad idea and our evaluation usually stands right.
Remember you are the best analyzers of your guts. Evaluate yourself and your guts. For particular time your decision may not be right so use your common sense whether it is the best time to take a risk or not.
